Round three of the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 Supercup championship took place at Oulton Park where Smalley took his second pole position of the season before being denied a victory

Qualifying took place on Saturday morning at Oulton Park. There was a lot of rain overnight and some drizzle in the air meant that it was going to be a challenging qualifying session. Adam managed to maximise the session and took his second pole position of the season.

Race one was held on Saturday afternoon. Adam got a good start and maintained the lead throughout the race. He led all 16 laps and crossed the line first but a track limits penalty meant that the victory was taken away. The penalty meant that Adam finished 12th on the timing sheets which is where he had to start race two on Sunday.

Sunday’s race was delayed due to some incidents in previous races but it finally got underway late in the afternoon. Adam had a lot of work to do but managed to climb up the order quickly. An early safety car halted his performance but he brought the car home in 6th place to salvage some good championship points.

Overall, it was a difficult weekend for Adam but his full attention now turns to round 4 of the championship at Knockhill on the 14/15August. Adam currently sits second in the championship leaving Oulton Park but he will be fighting back in just over a week’s time.
